A day at the track
This is how a Lotus Driving School Level 1 day runs.
Theory and safety
The day starts with an introduction to the schedule and a safety briefing, followed by an introduction to weight transfer: how the car behaves under braking, under acceleration and in corners.

Practical exercises
Before heading out on the track, you practise car control in separate exercises under an instructor's supervision.

Track sessions with an instructor
After lunch you head out on the track in the Lotus Elise. The instructor sits beside you and shows how the techniques are applied in performance driving.
- Two 15–20 minute sessions with an instructor

Debrief and certificate
The day ends with a debrief with your instructor, who points out what to work on next time you drive.

Lotus Elise
The car: Lotus Elise
The Lotus Elise is the classic roadster. Weighing just over 850 kg and with a perfectly balanced chassis, it is a joy on the road and great fun on the track. Its light weight and its behaviour on the circuit make it an ideal car to learn in.
Dracon · A1 Motor ParkThe tracks
The courses are held at the Dracon circuit near Kaloyanovo, completely rebuilt in 2024. Some dates may be held at A1 Motor Park near Samokov. The track for each date is shown in the calendar.

Nothing was done in a rush, incredible soft skills, you could actually see that they love what they do and do it with passion. When you do something with heart, it is always great! That is exactly what happens at Lotus Sofia! Everyone is smiling and positive, no matter how quickly you pick things up. I would call the training world class, because in Bulgaria you rarely meet people who can teach you without making you feel you know nothing. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and that puts the learner completely at ease. And the cars... Oh, the cars! :-) Once you have driven a Lotus, you realise that ordinary cars are just that: ordinary. A huge thank you to the team, and I hope to see you again for Level 2!
